Global University Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Lecture to Promote Education and Prevention

Beirut, October 28, 2025 — The Faculty of Health Sciences at Global University organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Lecture at the University Library, bringing together students, faculty, and staff for an informative and interactive session dedicated to education, prevention, and empowerment.

The program featured three expert-led presentations highlighting key aspects of breast cancer awareness:

Dr. Layla Jawhar, Director of the Nursing Department, emphasized the importance of early detection and breast self-examination in reducing mortality rates and improving treatment outcomes.

Mrs. Sara Rifai, from the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, discussed how healthy nutrition and lifestyle choices can help minimize cancer risk and support overall well-being.

Dr. Layan Rifai and Dr. Samira Ayad, representing the Physiotherapy Department, presented on the role of movement and rehabilitation exercises in recovery and enhancing quality of life for breast cancer survivors.

The event attracted a large audience who actively engaged with the speakers through questions and reflections, which transformed the session into a remarkable platform for active learning. Pink ribbons and awareness materials reinforced the message of solidarity and the importance of early detection.

“It was inspiring to see students from diverse majors come together to learn and support this vital cause,” said Dr. Layla Jawhar. “Awareness is not just about information—it’s about empowering individuals to take charge of their health.”

The Faculty of Health Sciences extends its gratitude to all speakers, organizers, and participants for making this initiative a success. Through events like these, Global University reaffirms its commitment to education, health advocacy, and community engagement.
