Global University Hosts Specialized Workshop on the Mulligan Concept in Manual Therapy

The Physical Therapy Department at Global University hosted a specialized workshop on the Mulligan Concept in manual therapy at the University's Health Center from September 4 to 6, 2026. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Hussein Nasser, a specialist in Mulligan manual therapy techniques.

The workshop reflects Global University and its Health Center's commitment to supporting the continuing professional development of physical therapists and promoting evidence-based clinical practice through practical skills training and current therapeutic approaches.

The workshop covered a range of Mulligan techniques for the assessment and management of upper limb and cervical spine dysfunctions, with a strong emphasis on hands-on application and the integration of these techniques into clinical practice. Participants gained practical experience in applying manual therapy techniques within the physical therapy assessment and treatment process.

The Mulligan Concept is an internationally recognized approach in the field of manual therapy. It equips physical therapists with evidence-informed techniques that enhance clinical decision-making and support the effective selection and application of manual therapy interventions tailored to individual patient needs.

The workshop was characterized by its interactive and practical format, allowing participants to practice techniques, discuss clinical cases, and exchange professional experiences. This hands-on approach strengthened the link between theoretical knowledge and clinical application, enabling participants to translate learning into practice more effectively.

Dr. Hussein Nasser is scheduled to return to Global University in January 2027 to deliver the second part of the workshop. The upcoming course will focus on Mulligan techniques for the lumbar spine and lower extremities, building on the topics covered during the first phase of the training program.

Through this workshop and other professional development initiatives, Global University reaffirms its commitment to advancing the competencies of physical therapists, fostering lifelong learning, strengthening the integration of education and clinical practice, and keeping pace with international developments in the field of physical therapy.
