The
Focus Group Vision and Goals
Based on a shared
vision presented in the European Vision of Quality,
the Education and Training Activities Group (ETAG)
of the European Organization for Quality (EOQ) is
mediating to join efforts with universities from all
over Europe and Neighboring countries in order to
harness diversity, build on success and win
together. This effort aims expand and exchange
knowledge, reach co-learning and co-thinking on new
approaches and share results from practical
implementation in the local markets in order to use
the feedback to improve the theories.
Goals of the
Focus Group:
(1)
connect with like minded colleagues
to generate momentum,
(2)
apply knowledge to accelerate
progress and get sustainable results and
(3)
build the capacity to change and
transform at the system level.
Connect
- to organize a
conference/workshop once a year to showcase the
latest innovations and practical solutions, while
providing the opportunity to network with others;
- to build a learning community for organizations
and individuals as a 'community of practice', a
group sharing the same passion and interacting
regularly to learn how to do it better
- to collaborate for accessing sources of financing
educational programs, both national and
international
Apply knowledge
- to build a solid
foundation of improvement skills and expertise for
improvement leaders and people in the workforce
- to achieve breakthroughs towards implementing
innovative ideas
- to strive for a new 'system of education' to
ensure learning about learning
Build the capacity to change and transform
- to collaborate on
specific topic areas that would change and improve
education and training (e.g. sustainable
practice-based learning)
- to change the professional culture to reduce the
theory-practice gap (linking educational efforts
with new, innovative developments)
- to build a web site to make our current Body of
Knowledge accessible worldwide
The cooperation would
surpass traditional quality control to cover,
explore, share and experiment with various
approaches and their applications in higher
education.
This agreement would
allow the individuals investing their time and
effort towards reaching the same goals, to feel the
joy, excitement and sense of personal achievement
which would be one of the most important drivers for
the practical implementation of the proceedings of
this agreement.
